Skincare is WHAT's Up!

January 25, 2021

Raise your hand if you know how important skin care is to your makeup routine?! All of your hands should be raised ;)) Personally, I am a warrior about my skin and with this mask wearing business due to Covid, my skin has taken a dump!! I got MASK-ne !! For god sakes I’m in my late 40’s...there should be a cut off as to when cystic acne becomes a distant memory, right?!! Yeah, well it doesn’t work like that but nonetheless..I am now back on track and hopefully my acne and dark spots will disappear in the next coming months with proper consistent care.

BUZZ word alert...consistent. When it comes to having Discovery calls about a client’s upcoming wedding or virtual makeup class...we will always speak to your skincare/prep routine at home. It’s so very important to be consistent with how you take care of your skin. Not only to keep one looking your age (;)) but to also keep your skin happy and healthy in order for a makeup application to look its best even when you are wearing no makeup at all. I think this is a reasonable expectation. Best practice is to seek an expert in the field to help guide you. I have referrals if you need. Age, stressors, skin texture, skin color, seasonal changes and many other reasons factor into a customized skincare routine for you. Once you have the tools, the rest is follow through.

A daytime and nighttime routine is best. Serums, moisturizers, cleansers and masks can really make the biggest difference in your skin outlook. Being mindful of the largest organ of your body is a WIN! As a makeup artist skin prep is ‘What’s Up’...the better a client’s skin is from the start, the less product I will need to use as a whole.

Within every class I teach online, there is a skincare component so if you need more help, I am there for you! Book A Flawless Face Class Today!
