Makeup the Bride is 100% all about pleasing my clients! I listen to the beauty wishes of each and every Bride- To-Be in our discovery calls. One of my asks on a discovery call is for them to send over makeup inspiration pictures that they have seen and love for their wedding day beauty. I also ask my clients to send pictures of themselves with and without makeup if applicable so I may see what their features are in comparison to what their inspirational pic(s) look like...I also love hearing and seeing makeup ideas that they DO NOT like. Usually, my brides don’t wear much makeup on the daily and consider themselves more natural. But having this information gives me a really good foundation (no pun intended) for when our makeup consultation is scheduled. I find that going through these important steps set us up for success because we can manage our expectations. I also am very open to having these conversations with anyone else in the wedding party to make sure we are all on the same page. In fact, I always ask for beauty inspo pics on the day of for anyone who would like to show me so once again I can assess and make sure expectations can be met.
When the bride to be comes for their makeup consultation, we go over and discuss what ideals will translate best from their makeup inspo pictures into our makeup application taking into consideration the color palette, face shape, eye shape and color, hair color, dress color/style, complexion texture and overall vibe of the beauty look. That moment when my bride to be looks into the mirror at the end of our makeup application and says ‘Wow’ in a good way ;) , this is when I know that her expectations were met and the reality is more than what they could’ve dreamed of! Not to mention that when all the pieces get put together on the wedding day with the hair, makeup, wedding dress and bouquet...it’s a jaw dropping moment for everyone! Reality is beyond what everyone imagined!
